Oh... fine. Have some information, then.

I am: demiurge, Miiru, Skjeve, incipient storyteller and honourary mamacat. Not entirely married. Occasionally acid. Rumoured to be a good friend, although the jury's probably still out. Prone to biting. Given to bouts of TMI (you've been warned).

Language is important. Words are important. Use them well, please.

Please to be taking notice: my journal really ain't for the kiddies. There are, scattered here and there, profanity and unabashed reference to smut, although any mention of violence is anecdotal and tongue-in-cheek at worst. So if sex = squick but bloodshed = bring it on, I'd find somewhere else to play, yes? Off you go, now. Shoo.

For the rest of you, welcome to my sandbox. Please keep your hands and feet inside the carpet and do not under any circumstances feed the bears. Feeding the cats is mandatory, natch.

And yes, apparently, I'm a goddamn hippie.

The Fates may do whate'er they will,
They can't disturb her mind,
Insensible of good, or ill,
Ophelia is Ophelia still,
Be Fortune cross or kind.

Forgiveness is the highest form of forgetting because it is forgetting in spite of remembering.

Writing and living in your head is something meditative, and like meditation it comes more with practice, it is a process of going deep, very deep. - Deborah Beale

For your potential amusement and my own inspiration, a few quotes nicked from The Quotable Neil. That man is eminently quotable, which may explain why there is a website devoted to doing just this thing:

"No rules. Just stories, and you tell as many of them as you can."
-Neil Gaiman 01/25/08

"The best thing about writing fiction is that moment where the story catches fire and comes to life on the page, and suddenly it all makes sense and you know what it's about and why you're doing it and what these people are saying and doing, and you get to feel like both the creator and the audience. Everything is suddenly both obvious and surprising ("but of course that's why he was doing that, and that means that...") and it's magic and wonderful and strange.

You don't live there always when you write. Mostly it's a long hard walk. Sometimes it's a trudge through fog and you're scared you've lost your way and can't remember why you set out in the first place.

But sometimes you fly, and that pays for everything."
-Neil Gaiman 10/16/07

"Most people can start a short story or a novel. If you're a writer, you can finish them."
-Neil Gaiman 05/02/04

"It does help, to be a writer, to have the sort of crazed ego that doesn't allow for failure."
–Neil Gaiman 02/03/04

"My children have, on occasion, strongly suggested that there might not be a Father Christmas. They also seem very doubtful about the existence of the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny and the Weird Knife Lady In The Attic. I humour them by pretending to go along with all this, but I keep my own counsel on the matter."
–Neil Gaiman 12/01/04

"Plus, I told my wife that I'd really like an Addams Family house. You can't get them in England! You can get real Tudor houses built by real Tudors in Tudor times, but one thing you can't get is a proper, honest-to-goodness Addams Family house. I wanted Victorian Gothic. I wanted proper creepy. I wanted a tower. So I set out to find one and found one immediately. That's another wonderful thing about America. They throw all those things out! And they look so cool. They really are wonderful American Gothic houses. Creepy! Every year, we get in supplies of Halloween candy and put out a stack of comics. And every year, we put away the candy and the stack of comics because no kids actually dare come up to our house."
-Neil Gaiman
